Calvin and "Hobbes"by ChrisSamnee

This week's subject over on the ComicTwart blog is Calvin & Hobbes!

I'm a HUGE fan of Bill Waterson's strip. HUGE!!

That said, trying to draw them without just aping Watterson's style to keep them on model is a whole 'nother story. : P

Question: Do you think Hobbes is real or purely a figment of Calvin's imagination?

Awesome work on this! That T-Rex looks great and I like how you made Calvin look a bit older (not sure if that was your intention, but it's still cool altogether) =D

Thanks a bunch, Travis! Yeah, older wasn't my intention, I just couldn't draw those teeny-tiny legs that Watterson puts on Calvin without it looking odd or like I was just copying him. Glad it works for ya though. : )

No problem, Chris- yeah, it works fine. You can't be expected to do everything one artist does at the sacrifice of wanting to bring to the table your own individual style, plus it kinda takes a bit of the fun away.
